We take the greatest care that your new battery is packed, shipped and delivered to you.

Packing
In conjunction with our logistics partners, FedEx and SLI, we have developed packaging solutions which are elegant, sustainable and effective. All Lead Acid batteries that we ship have their breather holes plugged and then the battery is wrapped in polyethylene in order that in the unlikely event of a spillage, any electrolyte is contained. After that, the battery is placed into a specially designed carton and padded with shock-absorbing packing material such as EPS or bubble wrap. We are confident that our packing solution will ensure that your battery will arrive in the same state that it left us. The box is opened by cutting the packing tape and folding back the lid or for the larger cartons, cutting the tape and lifting the lid away from the base.

Quality Assurance
We check every single battery that we ship prior to shipping. Every battery is volt meter tested and then stamped with a date stamp in order that we know when each battery was shipped.

Shipping
Our logistics partners are FedEx, for single items up to 30kg, FedEx for Classic batteries and SLI, for larger consignments of over 30kg and multiple batteries. FedEx are one of the biggest “B2C” carriers in the UK and deliver literally millions of parcels, packets and cartons each year. SLI are part of the Palletline organisation and through Palletline we have been successfully shipping thousands of pallets of batteries over a period of many years.

Delivery
We offer a free 48 hour service* for all our single batteries that weigh under 30kg The service can be upgraded or enhanced for a small extra fee at the checkout. Larger items, which will need to be shipped on a pallet are charged at the market rate – again, these rates are available at the checkout. If you need a pallet delivery owing to the weight or size of the items, you will need to ensure that you have the wherewithal to offload the goods – this may mean that you require lifting equipment as some of these batteries are very heavy.

All deliveries can be tracked as each consignment is issued with its own unique tracking number. Once the consignment has left us, it is in the hands of FedEx and they will SMS and e-mail updates on the whereabouts of your consignment as it makes its way to you.

General Information for Overseas Customers
We can deliver some types of battery to destinations outside of the United Kingdom – however, as most types fall under either UN2794 or UN2800 categories of Dangerous Goods we cannot and do not send these overseas. Classic Car batteries, however, are an exception and these can be sent overseas – but only in a dry state.

Our Checkout is disabled for Overseas Customers because we will not send UN2794 or UN2800 outside the UK and because our advertised prices are “delivered” and taxed prices for delivery within the UK. As the cost of carriage overseas is considerably more than the cost of carriage within the UK and differs from country to country and there is also question of whether tax is chargeable depending on where in the world we are shipping to and to whom; it is not possible to use our checkout from outside the UK.

As we can only ship dry batteries overseas, it is important that we explain what this means to a customer from overseas in order that they make an informed decision whether to continue before we complete the transaction.

We cannot and do not ever ship classic batteries overseas via courier already filled and charged as our classic batteries are “open vented” and will spill/leak battery acid if tipped over or inverted. For this reason, these types of batteries are not allowed on aircraft.

An acid pack is categorised as Dangerous Goods category UN2796, cannot be shipped on aircraft and can only be shipped at all under specific packing conditions. In addition, it is illegal to import acid into some countries. Therefore, for overseas customers, we simply do not ever ship acid packs.

This means that if you buy a dry battery from us you will need to source some battery acid locally and you must use sulphuric acid to strength SG1280 in order for the battery to store the correct power. You will also need to charge and maintain the battery with a suitable charger.

Because of the requirement to source the battery acid, fill and charge the battery locally and the distance and difficulty involved in getting a filled and charged battery back from overseas, we cannot offer a warranty on overseas sales.

Once all the difficulties listed above are understood by the customer and we know what the cost of delivering a dry battery overseas is; we send the customer a link to a specially prepared checkout that remains active for about a week. All that has to be done is make the payment, we receive the order and ship accordingly.
